#Gift card issue (?)

Hello, I've been given an xbox gift card and wanted to buy Gta 5 which costed more than the value of gift card and i had the rest of money on my credit card, but when i wanted to buy it with gift card and money from my card, the payment on the card was full price of the game like it didnt include the gift card, j would love some help or maybe its just impossible to do.

Xbox one S, didnt attemp to fix it (idk how) i havent seen anyone with similiar issue

Was the gift card given in your regional currency?

I assume you redeemed it? You need it in your microsoft balance for it to be used as a payment method.

Try to add a payment method, either on your console or on PC at the website ... I don't remember how I made it recognize my balance, otherwise I'd possibly be able to help more. lol

Google "Microsoft Account" (I always forget the site.) and you can login to their website and see if you actually have balance to use, but if you redeemed it, you should. Have you tried rebooting your console? That sometimes helps.

You can get there from Xbox.com and the little menu under your profile picture

i see the balance in Microsoft but credit card is still getting charged full price

Go to your XBox -> Settings -> Account -> Payment & Billing

You might need to add Microsoft Balance as a payment method for it to recognize it. I'm pretty sure that's what I did and now it recognizes it whenever I go to purchase something.
