So my Xbox series X will not let me run 1440p 120hz with a 2560x1440p 165hz gaming monitor and the monitor model is Koorui 27E6QC 27in curved 2560x1430p 165hz VA panel. And im also using the HDMI cable that came with the xbox which should be a 2.1 HDMI. I've tried turning of freesync and everything but nothing worked.

I couldn't verify from this page but its likley that it does not support this via HDMI at the same time. Just because a monitor supports 1440p and 120 does not mean both can be used togethor. It may also be refering too DP and not HDMI. https://koorui.co.uk/product/koorui-qhd-27-inch-curved/****

try turning off Game Mode though

I looked at the page and it says
Display
Screen ratio
16:9
DP 1.2
1440P+165HZ
HDMI 2.0
1440P+144HZ
response time
1MS MPRT

So it should support 1440p 144hz HDMI 2.1
And I don't think there is a game mode on it

its a HDMI2.0 port and HDMI 1.4 as shown but that isnt irreverent

So would I have to use a HDMI 2.0 instead of 2.1

I think you miss understood what i was saying. It says 1440p 144hz this does not mean that the moniter can run 1440p at 144hz at the same time

#

The HDMI 2.0 or2.1 is not relevant here

#

try setting it too 1080p 120hz

I can do that

I was also thinking that I might have to update the firmware but the manufacturer website has no downloadable drivers
