I don’t have batteries so I started using an xbox charger cord to try and use it but it just turns on and off with the slightest rustle. Then I tried something stupid by utilizing tinfoil to try and bridge the gap between the charger and the controller. Now it makes a humming noise whenever I plug in the charger but it doesn’t turn on

I’ve tried unplugging and plugging back in and it didn’t work
It’s an Xbox series X controller
You should not jam tinfoil in to electrical connectors.
Try using batteries to see if you didn't short circuit the whole thing.
