Hi everyone,

My old Xbox broke down and I bought a new one.

Now when I log in on my Microsoft account to get back my gaming progress, it shows a different profile then the one i always used.

I know my old ganertag, but not the email attached to it (I thought I chanved it to the one I remembered, but that one logs me into a new profile).

Anyone has a idea how to retrieve my old gamertag and profile?

Thanks in advance!

You need to know your email address.

Look through all your old emails on yoru computer and see if you can figure out which one you used for yoru xbox account.

I found one, but it says that the email isnt there anymore

Accounts on almost all services rely on a functional email address.

If you know what the email was supposed to be, you can try setting that email account back up.

#

If you were using gmail or yahoo mail or whatever you'll need to review their support files on how to reactivate a deleted account

What a mess, its just weird that there are 2 profiles on 1 emailadress and I can only access the one I dont need

#

No emailadress works to get access to my old gamertag account

#

Im still logged in the right account on my EAFC app

there can't be two xbox accounts on 1 email address. It is 1:1 microsoft account:xbox account

#

unfortunately if you can't figure out what the old email is, and have it working so you can receive codes/etc, the old account will be lost

Seconding the fact that it isn't possible to have 2 profiles on one email address.

rapid glade
#

Well, I still can't access the account with the right gamertag

#

I found a email adress with *** in the middle, but I don't remember what was in between there, let alone what the password is

#

Still, I can access the EA app fine, and there is my used gamertag shown

Update: Found my gamertag profile, but unable to access it.

Also, I have bought xbox live on that profile, which when I make a new profile, still cashes from my bankaccount to the old profile

#

Follow up question: Is there any way to get my harddrive (which contains my old profile) to my new Xbox? Or to transfer the old profile from my old xbox to my new one? (Mind that my old Xbox is broken down and won't power on sadly)

#

You have any ideas @glossy ibex or @steel pulsar ?

#

Or just put my old hard drive into my new xbox?

glossy ibex
#

The only way to transfer your profile is to log in to your profile on the new Xbox.
That means you need to know the email address and password (if you know the email you can do password reset though)

#

and the only hard drives you can move between consoles are the external ones. You can not open up your console to access any internal drives.

rapid glade
#

But when I open up my console and take out that hard drive and put it into my new console, will that work?

#

I got a system error, but I might need a offline system update

steel pulsar
#

No, and discussions of that are a violation of rule 12

I finally (think) I know the right emailadress, but I don't have access to that emailadress or the phonenumber attached to it

#

So what now

glossy ibex

I’m not sure why you want me to say…
You need to know your email and you need to be able to use it. The email is literally the key to your account.
You need to figure out the password and log in to it.
If the email has been deleted you need to recreate it. That might mean contacting support at yahoo or google or wherever you made the mail s I mentioned yesterday.

I also strongly suggest getting a password manager app like 1Password

Thanks for your reply, I really appriciate the patience of you guys, I'm just a noobie in this area haha

#

I think I found the correct emailadress, but when I press forgot passowrd, it send a text to a number I dont own

Remembering your email and passwords, and keeping them active, is going to be super important to very literally everything.

As for losing access to your phone number you will need to look up the support information for whoever runs your email to see if you can change the phone number.

Another question. Can I put the data of my old xbox harddrive onto a laptop and then copy it to an USB, plug that into my new xbox and get access to the data?

Your game saves, purchases, progress, friends lists, etc are part of your account and can’t be transferred to a different account.
They will automatically download when you log in to the account on your new console.

#

The only thing you can copy over are the game install files. And that is just to help if you have slow internet.
