i cant find a xbox stereo adapter that has the seal of approval badge on it and the terms of use say if i use one without the badge then i can get banned

There's a few DACs off the top of my head. The Astro Mixamp Pro TR, either Gen 3 (White vertical block) or Gen 4 (Black horizontal block), or the Steelseries GameDAC Gen 2.

I use the Gen 3 myself for my IEMs.

You can use third party headphone adaptors if you need to.

But why do you need to? You can plug your headphones directly in to the controller. What extra feature do you want?

I think he wants volume and mic controls, and I understand why. Imagine having to open up your Xbox guide just to mute and unmute your mic for example.

My IEMs' mic cable technically doesn't have one when in a controller as inline mics aren't exactly meant for outside of phone use. :/

Another reason why I chose the Gen 3 Mixamp over Gen 4. It's mute is digital as opposed to an analogue mute.

@marsh sierra you do know that you only need that adapter if you have a old style controller that was brought before 2016? If you have a series console as per your tag you do not need an adapter as the controller as a 3.5mm port

They won't know at all, you won't get banned for controller adaptors at all. So there's no need to worry about it. Besides, you'll be using the official one anyway. Why would you get banned? Sounds silly.

I not sure what you want us to say its an official adapter and even if it wasn't and was 3rd party it would still be okay to use
