#Factory resetting my Xbox Controller

Hey everyone! 👋 I've just contacted the support to solve a problem I'm currently experiencing with my Xbox controller. I was wondering if there was a tool to reset the firmware currently installed on my controller. On the « Xbox and accessories » app, I only see the update section. FYI: I’m experiencing joystick drifting*

When I visited the support page, I saw a link related to « I was experiencing a problem with my controller after an update », but the application showed me a popup message: « Sorry, this update cannot be reversed ».

I experienced an update firmware issue with my Controller (the update failed and asked me to plug the controller via USB in order to make the update). Since then, I suspect the firmware to be the cause of a Joystick Drifting Issue. That’s the main reason why I’d like to factory reset my controller to be sure that’s a hardware issue and not a software issue.

Current firmware version: 5.22.16.0 (latest)

Stick drift is a physical issue that occurs randomly.
You can temporarily lessen the drift by setting a larger deadzone in the accessories app (maybe only for elite controllers, I forget)
But the only real solution is replacing it

Most games have deadzone settings in game
your real answer though is too replace it as Tacti said.
