- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)

- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
You have tagged this as 'issue resolved' so I assume you have figured out how to fix your profile picture issue?
OH NO I thought that meant that meant I’m looking for the issue to be resolved😂😂
Where does it look dimmed, everywhere? Is it also dimmed in other places like xbox.com, the mobile or PC apps?
It’s dimmed on everything. It’s didn’t start until the new Xbox update
do you have a link to what it is supposed to look like?
a screenshot posted to an image sharing site suhc as imgur or photobucket?
I just used xboxgamertag.com and regular xbox.com to look up your name and yea it is super dark.
Have you tried re-uploading it? the original photo may have been corrupt
An Xbox update wouldn’t change the gamerpic on the service
I sent you a DM on what the picture looks like
I have tried so many different profiles pictures it’s still dimmed. Ever since this new Xbox update it’s been happening…
not had this issue before
have you tried uploading the picture a different way - like if you were using the web page, try using the app or whatever?
I’ve tried reinstalling the app on my phone. I sent you a DM on me putting the picture on my profile picture
it isn't an animated gif or anything and just downloading a pic from insta shouldn't result in a corrupted picture (though you could try just taking a screenshot of the picture and then using the screenshot instead of the downloaded pic?
I took screenshots on my phone and put it as my pfp before. I don’t think thats the problem
And it wasn’t a gif
Imma download the Xbox app on my laptop and try it from there.
So you've been uploading from phone? Have you tried uploading from the console?
I'm not sure the Xbox app on PC allows custom gamerpic upload right now
Em I'm flummoxed... looking at the original picture, a totally normal colorful baywatch picture, vs the resulting profile picture the only thing that is stuck in my head is like back last century when the color palette for a gif got broken - so all the pixels are in the right spots but hte actual colors aren't what you'd expect. lmao, idk
It's possible there's a bug in the uploader he used, but I would need to know exactly what he used to upload it, and if it's the phone app, which version.
The way I’ve been uploading custom profile pictures to my account. I’ve been doing it from my phone for years. I take a screenshot of something that I like and I do it from my phone. It didn’t start doing it until this new update came out. Sorry if I keep on mentioning the update..
iOS
sorry for the ping but did you ever find a solution to this?
Bumping this to centralize the topic.

@glacial pawn tagging you here, if I get updates I'll use this thread.
@lament torrent , @whole sentinel Are you still seeing this issue? And KJ81611 says that the image fixed itself over time after upload. Would be interesting to know if you're seeing something similar.
What would also help is if you could share the original images you're trying to upload (can DM to me) and the version of the Xbox App you're using.
