I bought games on my xbox 1, but since I don't have it I wanted to play them on my laptop. I'm just wondering how do I do that since I really want to finish my run on elden ring.

If you look at a game's store page on xbox.com it will tell you if the game is 'play anywhere' and will list platforms the game supports
From Elden Ring's page: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/elden-ring/9P3J32CTXLRZ
we see that it is not 'play anywhere' and that it is only for consoles
