Xbox Game pass pc wont recognize my external drive

I have been working on this since 7 am and am at my wits end, According to the xbox pc app the games should install in my drive but when I tried to install morrowind, My drive wouldnt show up either didnt exist or wasnt connected its connected to my pc as I can install steam games on it. I have closed and reopened the app serveral times and restarted my pc what should I do? Thank you for all the help
