I know this might have come up previously but my WiFi keeps disconnecting from my xbox every 30 mins or so, it gives speeds from 2mb/s to 40mb/s. But I think the issue is coming from my ipv4? It tends to just vanish randomly, and I also seem to get mac address 0 a bunch. I've no clue how to fix this issue, it's driving me insane. I cannot use an ethernet connection. Please help me!

@noble bay Thanks for posting! Please remember, support here is volunteer-based and not official. Be patient after posting, and don’t spam or ask in other channels.
If your issue is about accounts, billing, contact Xbox Support directly.
If your issue is related to an Enforcement action, no one here can help.
To help us help you, make sure to answer:
- What did you try to do and what happened? (Be specific—mention your Xbox model, PC version, Insider ring, or anything relevant.)
- **What have you tried to do to fix it already? **(List everything you’ve done to fix it.)
- Have you searched the error code or for similar problems? (Tell us what you found.)
If you don’t answer these, you might not get a response.
what do you mean by it keeps vanishing and get mac address 0
So where it would normally give ipv4 info it says nothing every 30 mins or so (when it dies)
And sometimes I get no information at all and just "mac address: 0"
Sorry if this isn't articulated well, I'm honestly quite confused as to what's going on
ah okay so that isnt whats causing the issue, If the console disconnects then that infomation will be blank/missing as it isnt connected
can you get it connected and run a test network and speed & statistics test and post the results?
How do I do this 😛
Oh found it
Test network currently its connected so just says connected
When it doesn't work though it tells me to go through the router nonsense
Speed and statistics says
Download speed: 15.39 mbps
Upload speed: 2.42 mbps
Packet loss: 1%
MTU: 1480
Latency: 401ms
Wireless strength: 74%
If it helps, I recently asked my ISP to send clear packets and have recently rebooted. So this should be "peak" performance
Bare in mind my package suggests I'm meant to get 350 mbps download and 36mb upload
@crimson ferry does this help?
Though rn I'm trying to download diablo 4 and I keep going from 19mbps to 4mbps
And it went off again
It completely removed the WiFi for me like, not even showing it as connected but not working
I tried to connect through my saved networks and it asked me to restart the xbox
I have, and I'll try to run another test I guess
Download: 20.96mbps
Upload: 4.97 mbps
Packet loss: 1%
MTU: 1480
Latency: 779ms
Wireless strength: 77%
yes
The detailed network connection shows:
status code 0x040000004200004C
Wireless strength: 77%
And everything else shows not available. Beneath I see :there was a problem with some of the tests. Try again later.
the issue is your Latency that latency is quite bad the lower the better but anything over 100ms is going to cause you issues.
The other issue is the wireless Strength this needs to be at 100%
How do I fix these issues? I'm unable to use ethernet
And I can't really move my xbox either
Maybe an inch
then your pretty much out of luck I would talk to your provider that latency is shocking
Is that all I can do? D:
your provider might be able too give you a wireless booster or you can buy them on Amazon.
Personally though the way too go would be wired if that is really not possable then look into a power line.
A power line is a plug that you can buy from places like Amazon you plug it into a power scoket by the console and then a 2nd one by your router and it will let you run your broadband though your power sockets in your home
is your router in a other building or something?
Power line adapters are not that expensive £30 to £50 or your provider my give you one for free
Thanks I'll have a look. It sucks, I'm with virgin media and it has been awful so far
oh your in the UK I with vigrin are you on there Fibre Package ?
If so there is something wrong with your set up
what Hub do you have 3.0 or 4.0?
Update: new speed test as of me using the power thing
Download: 24.89mbps
Upload: 2.71mbps
Packet loss: 22%
MTU: 1480
Latency: 234ms
Wired
@crimson ferry is this better?
its better as in the loss and latency is better yes you may still have issues though
you loss should be virtually 0 and your latency should be under 100 ms
It's wired to the extendy thing
But yeah it seems rough still
Not switching off now
But not, good
Should I request an engineer?
you need to find out what those specs are at the router to work out if this is an issue with Virgin or the console or something else.
I would run a speed test on your PC or a other device wired and then compare it. If you still have the issue then yes you need too contact virgin. If the issue goes away then its a other probelm
Gotcha, what do I do if its the console 😅
@crimson ferry it seems the problem is back but with wired now
