from what I researched (before stupidly deleting my local Xbox 360 data) is that you can't backup saves or profiles on Xbox anymore (on a PS3 and PS4 you can backup saves to a USB stick for example)...
So if anyone reads this, if you want to keep playing your 360 games offline, don't delete the local 360 data while troubleshooting. It's an outage.

If someone was seeing this for 4 months it was a different issue. This one was very specifically because of a change in the past couple weeks.
