Do you know why I can’t connect my Xbox to a tv. I’ve been connecting my xbox to my gaming monitor for past two years and it was working perfectly. Now I want to connect it to my tv and it doesn’t seem to respond . It show a black screen. Any ideas? (Xbox series S)

It’s likely one of these:

  1. Faulty cable, if it works with the monitor then unlikely
  2. HDMI port on TV damaged - try another port if available.
  3. Make sure you are on the correct HDMI channel
  4. The tv’s display settings are different to that of the monitors and therefore is unable to display based on the current settings enabled on the xbox
