Controller not working

I was playing Spiritfarer (if that even matters) and my game just randomly paused. A while later it paused again and i couldn't do anything. I tried to move up in down the in game menu and then tried to open the xbox menu. Neither worked. I turned off both the controller and xbox and i still have the problem. Hell please

Im turning it off the xbox and controller off again to see if it was a fluke

Note the xbox turns on when i turn on the controller

Also it wasn't a fluke. Still doesn't work
