I'm a little bit confused I'm trying to change my email but it's not letting me does it have to be Microsoft specific or can I use any I'm trying to use my Gmail account.

( I don't normally change emails so I have no clue)

i also have the same question.. my email got hacked and i wanted to change for an gmail account, but it doesn't let me..i have starfield on my account and i dont want to loose the game.

You could try using the “forgot password” link when logging in with that Gmail address

I have access to my Gmail and I've looked at what connections it's using and Xbox is not one of them and I'm the only one signed into my account with 2FA enabled I will probably have to just create a Microsoft account with my Gmail when I have the chance and see what happens

i think i got it.. i changed the Alias email , now i enter with my gmail account in my microsoft account. is that it?

Your Xbox account is your Microsoft account, they are the same thing. Changing the email for one changes the email for the other.

and now , i have my gmail as primary alias in microsoft account too.. should i add a diferent email to my microsoft account?

If the gmail is a primary Alias then what your asking too do you already done, You cant change a email address to something that it is already.
