#I can't update my XBOX ONE S

I came home from work one day and wanted to sit down and spend some time. When I turned on my console, it asked me to update. I pressed the start button but it gave me 3 different error codes (0x80070570 0x00000000 and 0x90000005). I did some research on the internet and tried to format it first and then update it via USB memory stick. However, when I formatted it and did the normal online update, the problem did not go away. Then, when I tried it with a USB memory stick, it gave me a different error starting with E101. The problem is that I cannot use my console offline, it is like it is locked.

Thank you for your post! Please remember the support here is not official and is handled on a volunteer basis. Once you have posted your concern here, we ask that you be patient and not spam your thread elsewhere in the server, that will slow the process down.

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

Additionally, no one here can assist with Enforcement actions of any sort.

I think judging from those error messages there's a chance that your hard drive (internal storage) may be damaged. That isn't certain, but it is possible and I think we should put it out there.

#

Now, does the console currently get to the dashboard at all? You say you can't use it offline, but does it at least get to a functional dashboard?

And I was able to continue playing games offline, so I think there is a problem with my disk, but it could be, we don't know.

Good. OK. Do you know for sure if you correctly formatted the USB device as NTFS? This is important.

OK So it's not that problem.

At first it was starting with the USB memory stick, when it reached %1, I was getting the E101 XXXXXXX error

#

If you want I can try again to learn the code completely.

It might help someone to help you, but probably not me. I don't really know what the E101 codes all mean. Sorry.

#

Assuming you're performing the OSU correctly, then I don't know what to try next.

i checked its E101 90000005 80070570

Hopefully someone will know what that means. I'm worried it might be a problem with your hard drive that there's nothing we can do about. Might be able to take it to a local repair shop if you know one.

i have one more question what does it OSU1 OSU2 OSU3 means its diffrent?

The update from USB method or "Offline System Update" (OSU) doesn't rely on the internet anyway.

OK so OSU is just Offline System Update and the files are just parts of the update. You're supposed to install them in reverse order starting from the highest number.

#

When I last had to do this there was just OSU1 and OSU2 but if the update has grown larger, then I guess OSU3 as well might be needed.

#

Now I'm getting a "bad request" error on the page about this as well.
