Getting games to transfer over with account

I have an account I use and used to use on the Xbox 360. When I transferred that account, I didn't get all the games I had on the account transferred over with it. It's not games that aren't backward compatible, that's not the issue, the games I'm looking to be transferred over, are playable both on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. So I'm not sure what the problem is, and I was hoping someone does know (it could also just be a thing that's supposed to happen) .

Are you sure this is the same account you purchased those 360 games with? The 360 had its own version of "home xbox" sharing although it worked somewhat differently from the modern version.

Digital purchases of games that are backward compatible should carry over.

The other possibility is that you purchased those games in a different region from your current region.

i know its the same account. but i am not actually sure if i owned them, ik on my xbox 360 when i had it, i had the game in my installed games

On the 360 a game was licensed to both its original purchaser and the first console it was ever downloaded to. If someone else also used your console it's quite possible it was purchased by that person instead of you.

thats what i was thinking, its all a blur though cause i was like 7 when i played the games on the 360

i just checked on the account, it shows only 1 game purchased, and not the games im thinking of

Actually though, ik some games that weren't purchased on the account, that were just installed on the 360 i had, transferred over with the account, so idk why other games that i had installed didnt transfer

If there were multiple users on the 360 it might have been downloaded via one of those instead of your account

Some of the original Xbox games didn’t transfer over for me, they are still in my download list on 360. Not sure if that was a bug or just how it is for some of those but only a few.
