hi i recently started using a different router ( ASUS AX5400 ) and having problems with my port number keeps switching from 3074 to 54479 on my Xbox series x , I tried resetting my router multiple times , resetting my Xbox , using a static Ip address , port forwarding correctly. however my router does not allow me to assign a Ip address for port triggering in my router settings .

I tried doing my research online , from what i gathered its possible to do port triggering through a ftp server? which i have never done before. has anyone got any decent instructions. please help ??

You should not need to be manually adjusting ports, manually setting up addresses, setting up ftp servers, or setting up port forwarding rules.

If you set all your Xbox network settings back to normal and undo any weird router stuff that you did you should be able to connect to xbox network fine. If you can’t then there is troubleshooting that can be done at that time when things are back to a well understood state

I am familiar with this category and my original response stands.
That router should not need all that random stuff done for it to work properly.
If it is not working properly by default then there is something that should be troubleshooted.
Changing ports and assigning static ips and adding manual port forwarding rules just complicates that.

Check with your ISP. Normally you have to inform them that you’re using your own router.
