disconnecting from ethernet

my xbox keeps on connecting to my ethernet for a second then disconnecting and is never ending how can i fix it. there is nothing wrong with the ethernet nor my xbox. i have tried going offline and back online, restarting my xbox and unplugging and re plugging in my ethernet cable. i have searched for the same issue and someone else has the same issue as me but i couldnt seem to find an answer about how to fix it
