I somehow cannot buy the 14-day trial for 1€, I have redeemed a code with 10€, but it says I need to add another payment method, why is that so?

You do need a payment method if you are making the purchase with account credit. It won't take the money from the card, it's just needed as backup in case you choose to continue the subscription and haven't topped up the account.
