I have a problem with the Xbox Series S controller, namely the pad was discharged so I connected it with a USB C cable, I see an icon on the console that it is supposed to be charging, although in fact it is not charging at all.

Does it turn on with AA batteries?

okay, well this isnt a xbox thing batteries just do not recharge has standard, You can buy batteries that are designed too be recharged but you need a recharging kit

any rechargeable AA batteries kit will be fine

Id recommend that you go with one that is at least 1800mah. Anything lower will be fine but may not last too long.
