#My Xbox controller doesn't work?

I just bought a new xbox series x red controller, and when i try to use it wirelessly it just doesn't turn on. When i wire it to my pc it works perfectly fine. I've already updated the controller in xbox accessories app and it still doesn't work. Has anyone got any idea what's wrong?

I think something may be wrong with the batteries thingy, because when i plug it into my pc, with the batteries inside, it shows that it is just connected

why would it though?

if your just using batteries connecting it with a cable will not charge thee batteries. I would advise on buying some new batteries first.

Yeah.. I've tried the batteries that came with the controller and 2 different sets of batteries.

You double checked that the batteries were put in in the correct direction right? It would be very odd for a controller to be broken like that when brand new
