Hey anyone know why my Xbox keeps acting likes it’s brand new every few months? I bought my files explorer to get custom skins for Minecraft on my Xbox and now that my Xbox reset itself when I was packing it up to go to my dads my stuff was wiped and I wasted 3 dollars on my files explorer. I never had an issue with it until now because all of my custom files were wiped and since the skindex is down I can’t go back and retrieve those skins. Also some of my Minecraft worlds got deleted because of this

With all the conversation in general chat I wasn't sure this got answered.
But have you tried doing a full factory settings reset of the console in the first place? Is your console also enrolled into the Xbox Insiders program? And if so, what ring? Some of the insider rings get very frequent updates that could cause issues since they are not as extensively tested as the stable general releases.

When you say the console resets to factory settings by itself, what is it that happens? Is the console completely devoid of any installed games? Is the drive completely wiped out and you have to login again to your Xbox account and install all games again? Or is it only some things that seem to have disappeared?

I would recommend not installing any file explorer app in the first place, especially since now you know these are not allowed on Xbox consoles. To make sure it's not any third party app or customization causing the resets, you should definitely try not using them.

  1. The Xbox acts like its brand new and I have to set it up again, sign in, select language and all that
  2. My files explorer cannot be the cause because like I said this started a year before I got my files explorer

Let me check the insiders because around the same time that I did the insiders so I can check out the grounded wasp update before it came it the thing started
