#use xbox controller with pc without batteries

im currently using batteries with a wire to connect to my pc, but ive seen almost everywhere that it is possible to use just a wire, but i cant replicate at all. ive tried updating the controller with accessories app, using different cables etc and nothing seems to work. using the controller i got with my xbox 1 s

I use a wire too without batteries or anything else like that, but i have a xbox series x and it works great.
