I used usb to back up all my game Capture from xbox Serie X and when i try to to view it on the xbox Captures app there is nothing inside. But if i take a new capture image i can se it but old ones are like hidden.
I can se them on windows pc without any issues but the point is i wanna view it on console itself.

I dont get it whats the point backing up to external drive if you cant view it on the consol?
I appreciate it if someone tests this , take game screenshot on the xbox consol then transfer to externel usb device se if it shows up the top right

Transfering your captures to a USB drive won't display them in the capture app. It stores them as .png or .mp4 files and is intended for transfering them to other devices like a PC.
If you don't have a computer you can still look at them on your Xbox as pictures/videos through Apps like the Media Player.

it doesn't add up? did a test it seems the file format looks the same old files that are hiddin and the one i just took both are png? one shows up on xbox old ones dont, don't see the difference?

The Captures app cannot be used to view backups. As you have seen, you can use a PC for that.

huh today I learned, but I guess I confused it with clips recorded on the external device directly

There is no workaround, the backup is just the image files and doesn't contain any of the necessary metadata for the Captures app (Title, capture date, etc)
