My xbox one has suddenly refused to connect to wifi. It just says ‘failed to get IP address’, or something along those lines.
It has nothing to do with the router, because i’ve tried connecting using mine and my dad’s hotspot and get the exact same error message as trying to connect to the router. My problem is with the xbox itself.
Ive tried googling and it seems like nobody on earth has had the same problem as me so I would greatly appreciate if someone could help.

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).
Please list everything you have attempted.
If so, what results have you seen and tried?
If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.
Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

Have you tried factory resetting the console yet? Also, if it is an old console that you have gotten a long time ago, then it may be broken.
Oh yeah, 11 years would probably make it broken.

Hot spot isn’t a good test, some ISP block gaming ports.
