Thank you for your post! Please remember the support here is not official and is handled on a volunteer basis. Once you have posted your concern here, we ask that you be patient and not spam your thread elsewhere in the server, that will slow the process down.
If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.
In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:
- What is your issue?
Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).
- What troubleshooting have you tried?
Please list everything you have attempted.
- Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?
If so, what results have you seen and tried?
If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.
Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.
If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.
Additionally, no one here can assist with Enforcement actions of any sort.
I have no idea what to possibly do, and I cant find anyone else with this issue anywhere.
Are you moving it far away from the modem/router? If it's not wired, being far away from the wifi router could make it slow.
Nah when I go downstairs im closer to the router
And whenever I go to my friends house and go on their internet it still lags
Help please im going somewhere today and I want to bring my xbox
You need to put your Xbox in a location where it has good wifi connection.
That’s all there is to it. If you move it and it has lag that means the spot you put it doesn’t have good coverage.
That cant be the problem
It gets worse when I get closer to the router
The only time it doesnt lag is in my room
Anywhere else in my house = lag
Any of my friends houses = lag
The cause of lag is Internet connectivity, which includes WiFi strength how many other people are using your internet etc, not whether or not your Xbox is specifically in your room.
You can use a site like Speedtest.net to track your speed and latency in different locations.
And of course a wired Ethernet connection will provide the best results.
How does that explain my xbox speed changing depending on my room
The same ammount of people are still on the internet
And im closer to the router
It makes no sense
wifi coverage maps are complicatedd and not just simply based on distance. walls, furniture, people, etc all impact coverage
