#My friend get’s kicked out from the game (bo2) when we are playing LAN

Quick question for you on my friend who has a Xbox Series S. When we play old CODs via LAN we are in a match for about five minutes, but then he get’s kicked out(back to the dashboard) and gives him some message about he needs to be online for him to play the game. His Xbox isn’t set to the home Xbox as he’s game sharing with someone (which I would assume is why it’s giving him the issue I think.) On my end though I have a Series X and mine isn’t set to my Home Xbox either as I am game sharing with some else too, but I don’t get kicked out. I do have the game disc inside the console. Is that why I don’t get kicked out, but my friend on the Series S does since he is playing on just digital? Forgot to mention that it happens both when the consoles start the game with no internet and also when the consoles do have internet, but then disconnect from the internet when we play LAN (using a Network Switch) on the games. (Sorry for the long post.)

yes, digital games need internet to verify you own the game. setting as home allows to play without verifying.
