Every time I open or close a game/app my monitor screen goes black for about 5 seconds before continuing as normal. I don’t think it’s the “screen of death” that is referred to in many troubleshooting videos on YouTube as it only goes black briefly. I’ve had my console (Series X) for over a year and haven’t experienced this until today, I also haven’t made any recent changes to any settings. It’s not the worst problem but definitely slightly annoying, if anyone has a fix it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

It is because your TV/monitor takes 5 seconds to swtich between "HDR" and 'non-HDR' modes.

Different displays can make that switch at different speeds.

#

there is nothing you can do to 'make it stop' - other than completely disabling the HDR feature on your xbox

becuase you finally noticed it?
or you played your first game that actually used HDR?

No I only play 1 game every day

#

So I definitely would’ve noticed prior

those are two different things.

HDR10 turns on hdr functionality at all

auto HDR enables a series x/s console to automatically convert a non-HDR game in to an HDR output game

Ok would you recommend either ?
