I want to play Fallout: New Vegas on my phone, but the game is not available for remote play.
I don't actually need remote play to be honest, I am in the same room as my xbox, with my controller connected to the console, I just want the TV itself off so I don't disturb my sleeping wife. Essentially, I am looking to screen share the xbox's visual data to my phone (audio is coming through controller anyways). Is this possible?

Are you confusing “cloud gaming” with “remote play”?

Cloud gaming uses Microsoft’s Xboxes to let you play a selection of game pass ultimate games.

Remote gaming uses your personal Xbox to play any game you own

Interesting. I see some old posts that say some backcompat games couldn’t be streamed and give that error message. Never seen it before.

But to answer your question - just sending the video to your phone without using remote gaming is not a capability of the Xbox. That’s what remote gaming is for.
