Thank you for your post! Please remember the support here is not official and is handled on a volunteer basis. Once you have posted your concern here, we ask that you be patient and not spam your thread elsewhere in the server, that will slow the process down.

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

Additionally, no one here can assist with Enforcement actions of any sort.

What is the “discovery thingie”?

Are you using a TV or computer monitor?

What cables are you using to connect your 360 to the display?

i'm using an hdmi cable,
tv,
and the discovery thingie is enabling/disabling the display discovery setting in console settings - display - display discovery (forgot the name at the time)

#

it's just the hdmi cable my xbox came with when i bought it, so that could be the issue, although at the pawn shop the guy showed me that it works, audio and all, so it could be my tv, but idk

Try buying another HDMI. That should probably resolve the issue. If not, I’d see if the sound would even pass through on another tv.

#

If it does the same thing on the other one, then I’d return it and buy a new one.

#

Also, older consoles, including the Xbox 360 may not pass through audio because of their age. Just fyi!
