#Windows 10 Xbox login issues (GamingServicesTcui.exe has stopped working)`

Recently, I needed to sign out of my xbox account on my computer for testing purposes, but I ran into a problem. Whenever the sign-in screen appears, whether it be in something like the Minecraft launcher or the actual Xbox app, it immediately crashes, saying "GamingServicesTcui.exe has stopped working". Afterwards, I get an error code of 0x89235107 (Sorry, something went wrong. Try again in a while).

I did a ton of research online, but I haven't found a single solution yet that seemed to work for me. This is what I have tried so far:

  • running the debugger
  • restarting (and cold booting) my pc
  • reinstalling gaming services
  • reinstall the xbox app
  • running wsreset
  • reinstalling the xbox app
  • updating windows

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

I should mention I also tried the Gaming Services Repair Tool, and it didn't work either.

UPDATE: I fixed it, if anyone else is having this issue, my solution was to perform an in-place upgrade
