its been like this for a week or 2
A lot of TVs require you to go into settings on the TV itself and disable the speakers, in order for headphones to work properly.
alright ill try that rq thank you
nope
What no, there is an option in the Xbox audio devices settings to automatically mute tv/speakers when headphones are connected. It is not enabled by default (no idea why)
all it did was get rid of sound
You just have to toggle that option on
ive tried that multiple times
I've had to disable the speakers on my TV the last 5 TVs I've owned. I'm speaking from experience here. lol
the only feedback im getting is like a buzzing
Yea that’s not how the setting works. The Xbox doesn’t know if you’ve turned the tv speakers off. The Xbox can disable sending sound to the tv on its own. That option did not exist when the series s/x first released though.
like a quiet buzzing
Do you have a different headset or a different controller to test?
Controller jacks can break - as can the plug on the headset of course
ive tried a different controller
and i dont think its the headset since it still works with my computer
but i can get another headset
and try working it with my controller if that might help
What kind of headset is it? It isn’t an Apple one that came with the old iPhones right?
ion your xbox audio settings you just have it set to umm whatever the 'regular stereo' option i s called.... and not like dolby or bitstream or any of the random things right?
sterero uncompressed
tried setting both speaker and headset to it
didint work
but rn its windws sonic and headset ofrmat if that means anything
(oh btw i just noticed your name... there is a pretty strong 'no impersonation' policy here, so you shoudl change it before one of hte mods notices and changes it for you)
i'm not a big fan of windows sonic but yea that's still just normal headphone support so it should be working
if your headset has its own volume knob on it then you should make sure you have the volume on the xbox turned all the way up in teh chat mixer or whatever
you'll need to try a different pair of headphoens to determine if the jack on your controller is busted or not
but the buzzing gets quiter every time i turn mic monitoring down
kk give me a few ill ping u to see if it works
ok so i tried a different headset
and the different headset worked
cool, at least your controller isn't broken!
yeah yeah
but hten what about the headphones snce everything works fine
on computer
dunno, seems like an incopmatibility
but i found out on my main headphones chat mixer dosent work for some reason
sounds like something is wrong with the cable on the headphones and your xbox isn't seeing the headset properly
