Gamertag Not Showing Up Correctly

I recently changed my gamertag in Xbox and it shows up as such when I sign in. But in the games, it's the old one that's displayed. How do I fix that?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

I checked out the faq you suggested. I just got an Xbox maybe a couple months ago. So I assume I created both GTs after those changes were put into effect, right? And they’re completely different names w/ no suffix anyway.

you only have one Gamertag but if the game does not support the new system then it will dispay differently without a suffix

Maybe I’m thick, but I still don’t see it. You say that if a game doesn’t support the new format that it shows just the GT w/ no suffix, right?
But they’re not showing my GT w/ no suffix, they’re showing the previous one. Which again is completely different. And neither GT had/has a suffix.

When did you change your tag and does the old one show up in every game or just specific ones?

I changed it to the current one just a day or two ago. It shows up in the two I've played the most so far. I did check a couple other games, but they don't have or don't readily show a username.

some game will show your gamertag differently, because they do not support the new system. So what your experiencing is correct
