#can i replace my xbox one sticks with xbox 360 sticks?

I got 2 broken xbox one Controllers from my friend, i want to Frankenstein them together to make a working one, but there are no sticks with it, he will get me some tomorrow, can i salvage the ones in my xbox 360 controller for now? So i can fix the controller now without the sticks?
