gamepass games opening to either initializing and being stuck or a blank screen

im on pc gamepass and ive recent tried downloading various games and upon opening them i get stuck on initializing
i think a problem might be that the signin screen after opening a game is not popping up. ive tried powershell commands, checking updates, uninstalling/repairing both the app and gameservices checking for repairs in the app and nothing seems to work
