Thank you for your post! Please remember the support here is not official and is handled on a volunteer basis. Once you have posted your concern here, we ask that you be patient and not spam your thread elsewhere in the server, that will slow the process down.

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

Additionally, no one here can assist with Enforcement actions of any sort.

Does your home network support IPv6?
Does your ISP support IPv6?

What does the second one mean?

that sounds an awful lot like "No." to me, lmao

#

very few ISPs are handing out IPv6 leases. If yours was, you'd probably already know.

#

The information you'd need would be available on your ISP account page or support pages too

I’m only asking for a friend.. I’m not techy. 🙈

#

I don’t know why she just doesn’t connect to WiFi.

I don’t understand sorry it’s all gibberish to me.

I’ll let her know and tell her stick with IPv4 instead?

Your question was:

Trying to set up an Xbox Series X. I’m trying to change from a IPV4 to a IPV6 I found the numbers now its asking me for subnet and gateway numbers.

The answer is:

Do not change to IPv6. Leave it on IPv4.

Ok, she’ll probably ask why but I’ll say leave it as it is.

the answer to 'why' is:

Your network doesn't support IPv6

Thanks for your help I’ll let her know now.

#

She’s murder and said her network can 🤣👊🏼

#

I’m worst person to ask I’m glad I came on here!

If your friend wants assistance they should be the one askign the questions.
Going throuhg a middleman is always just slow and confusing.

Yeah true I told her YouTube it if need be.

If she knows that both her local network and her ISP support IPv6 then she should know where to find the IPv6 information her ISP has providedon her account page

#

And there is effectively zero benefit for enabling ipv6 on an xbox
