#microphone problem

hello! I'm Eagle, and I have an Xbox-One. I'm having some troubles with a headset I connected to my xbox controller, and it works almost perfectly, except, a problem I've run into.

the microphonedoubt. the microphone is fully detected, because if I turn the volume balance thing to make discord all the way down for example, it says it can't detect a mic, but if I set it back to normal, that notif dissappear. no matter what I do, my voice cannot be picked up.

I've tried googling what to do, but the advice I find seems to be directed at people with Bluetooth headsets that would appear in the connections area for controllers and headsets themself, and not stuff connected into the controller. what do I do?
