#120FPS option suddenly missing on Series S

Using a 1080p 165Hz monitor, the console is connected directly via the HDMI 1 port using the cable included with the console. 120hz was previously an option, enabled and fully functional, now the option is completely missing, and the console deems my setup is incapable of displaying at 120Hz (see image attached). No settings on the display nor console were changed between the last time I observed it working and now.

The display is also connected to my Linux PC (via DisplayPort), and it shows no issues running at 1080p165hz.

OS version on console - 10.0.25398.3402 (xb_flt_2402zn.240108-2200)

Try replacing your HDMI cable

It doesn't seem apparent to me that the HDMI cable could be the issue, considering 120Hz mode worked perfectly with it yesterday, and it's the cable included with the console, however I'll give it a shot anyway. I believe I do have a spare high speed cable

#

No dice unfortunately, however I'll note the cable I replaced it with for testing I can't 100% confirm if it was even to spec. It just says "HDMI High Speed" on both ends of it. It's a rather nice cable anyway but it seems the cable isn't the issue

#

Okay... odd.
Swapping the cable back to the original one, and changing the resolution to 720p brought the 120hz option back! Changing back to 1080p, the option remains, however this doesn't survive a reboot, and takes me back to square 1.
In fact, now that I've rebooted, I've tried to reproduce it and setting to 720p now doesn't show the 120hz option.

And... Now strangely reducing my color depth to 8 bit, the refresh rate setting returns.

#

I can set it to 10 bit as well and the setting remains

#

Seems this can be marked as solved now, just a matter of reducing the color bit depth, which I guess freed up bandwidth over the HDMI cable for 120Hz support to appear again. Would've been nice to see a better indication that some settings like that would lock away other visual settings
