Essentially, i have an xbox one. it isnt a series gen console, so its rather old. it works just fine, aside from the fact that, after getting a new power supply after having not used it for 2 months, it keeps using up all the power in my room until the breaker goes off. ive noticed that the power supply doesnt cool off well or at all no fan noises, or noise at all really (its a series adapter since they dont make non-series supply anymore) im curious as to what may be causing the power outage. i only really have thisz my tv, and my singular charger plugged in, so it shouldnt be using up that much aside from the xbox. it also only does this when im playing a game. anything in the app category is fine from what ive notied, its specifically when i play games that it messes up. i cant buy a new xbox console nor power supply, so im trying to do what i can.

you need to disconnect everything from the circuit that is popping. Something on that circuit is defective.

#

If you believe it is your xbox (and thepower supply is getting scarily hot) then you need to STOP USING IT

While it is in fact technically possible for a breaker to 'get old' and just start tripping on its own, I'm not going to provide any help troubleshooting that scenario over discord becuase it is 1) rare, 2) something only someone who knows about home power should be dealing with, 3) if someone is asking about it then they don't have the skills to deal with it (and I don't mean that as an insult, home power is deadly)

thank you

#

heres the tging

#

we have had the breaker checked multiple times, and supposedly it isnt that, so if thats the case, then we are being lied to

right, like I said, breaker being defective is rare.

that means it is osmething you have plugged in to the branch that breaker manages.

that being said, ill take your advice

you need to stop using whatever is plugged in and contact an electrician.... a breaker pops becuase it is preventing a fire

ok good to know.

#

ok, this is a stupid question for this situation, but could getting a new ac adapter fix it

#

because its only started since we got this new one.

#

and that's all thats directly plugged in

red arrow
#

maybe

#

if you are positive that it only trips when you have plugged the thing in, then the one you have is possibly broken

#

i'd absolutely not be using it if it is tripping your breaker

#

that is a very dangerous situation to be in

#

i strongly suggest talking to an electrician or a repair person to figure out what's going on with your breaker

#

it only seems to happen when playing games

#

it is perfectly fine with apps like youtube or just running the menu

#

so maybe its a overloading the gpu?

Contact an electrician or take your console to a repair person if you are positive that's what is causing the issue
