So about 5 years ago I was updating my elite controler, it randomly disconnected and failed the update, I forgot about it and just played with my other normal controler, now I want to fix it, but the issue here is that it isnt recognized by anything, I plug it into my pc and all it does is just flash, it doesnt get recognized by my pc at all, any solutions?

Another question I have is there a way to manually flash firmware on it or something like that? Is there any official documentation for repairing controllers? Or does microsoft just not care?

If the controller isnt been recognised then maybe your not connecting it correctly or maybe its just broken and needs to be replaced. For example if your connecting it to a PC are you using a Data cable and not just a charging cable?

yes that do and Tacti linked it for you. But your not going to be able to do anything with firmware if the controller will not connect. This isnt a firmware issue for the controller

Because firmware doesn’t just spontaneously corrupt itself on a controller that sits unused.
The link provided is how to update a controller.
Xbox does not provide repair parts for elite series 1 controllers, only series 2 and the regular modern controller.
But, per rule 12 no assistance is provided for those hardware repairs.
