  1. I checked headset jack connection to pad - is correct.
  2. I checked internal on/off switch on headset cable (switch is ON for mic)
  3. In game in "Audio & music" I have:
    '- headset mic (on)
    '- Headset volume (almost highest)
    '- headset chat mixer (middle)
    '- mic monitoring (on minimum; i also checked when i changed position here on middle)
  4. Settings -> General -> Volume & audio output ->
    Speaker audio: Stereo uncompressed
    Headset audio: Stereo uncompressed
  5. Settings -> Account -> Privacy & online safety -> App privacy -> Microphone
    Microphone on V
    Choose which apps can use your microphone: Microsoft account V
  6. Settings -> Account -> Privacy & online safety -> Xbox privacy -> View details & customise -> Communication & multiplayer -> Allow / Allow / Everybody / Everybody / Everybody / Everybody
  7. Settings -> Devices & connections -> Controllers & headsets -> ... ->
    I updated firmware and i can see icon that headset is attached to pad.

However still when I record video my mic doesn't work! please help!

Do you have another controller to test on? The jack port might be damaged.

I have 4 pads and 2 headsets (avaiable to xbox x connect). I tried every combination:
Pad 1 + headset 1
Pad 2 + headset 1
Pad 3 + headset 1
Pad 4 + headset 1
Pad 1 + headset 2
Pad 2 + headset 2
Pad 3 + headset 2
Pad 4 + headset 2

In every combination, the headset is available on Xbox. I can hear the game music. In the recorded video, I can also hear the game music. However, I can’t hear anything from my microphone.

The game in which I tested the headsets doesn’t have any options for the microphone.

So, there’s a really low probability that the problem is with the jack port.

Any other ideas? Please, I beg for help…

In Xbox party chat, does the Xbox see your mic and show activity when you speak?

(should be bottom the most right one)

#

there should be an option called “Headset mic”

#

turn that on.

If this option shows but it doesn’t work, it might be the headset fault, or the headset’s controller problem (Very unlikely missing controller problem unless it’s some chinese off brand)

If it shows but you’re talking and there’s no sound, try to adjust the headset volume on the same menu

Let me recap, it’s on, works on discord.
Does it work in-game?
And your problem is that it doesn’t work when you’re screen recording. Correct?
