Hello! I recently purchased an Xbox Series X. I began using it yesterday and have encointered some issues. Whenever I open YouTube, Spotify, or am downloading a game, the device will shut itself off after around 8 or 10 minutes.
I keep my Xbox in a well ventilated area, am using all the cables that came with it, and sometimes I keep it plugged into my WiFi router. I have done a soft reset and factory reset and nothing is working. Suggestions?

Thank you for your post! Please remember the support here is not official and is handled on a volunteer basis. Once you have posted your concern here, we ask that you be patient and not spam your thread elsewhere in the server, that will slow the process down.

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

In order for members of the community to provide adequate support, make sure you have provided answers to the following:

  1. What is your issue?

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

  1. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Please list everything you have attempted.

  1. Have you searched #1091756150644555946 for anyone else with your issue or researched your issue on the internet?

If so, what results have you seen and tried?

If you do not provide answers to all of these questions, you are not likely to receive a response.

Once you have posted, please ensure you have answered all the questions and be patient. Do not go to other channels and ask for help, that slows things down.

If you need immediate support, please contact Xbox Support.

Additionally, no one here can assist with Enforcement actions of any sort.

Hey man, I've been having the same issues with this except mine takes roughly 30-60 minutes before it disconnects. I've done everything you have done. Even as far as checking the voltage on my outlets. Which I've come to find out only give off about 125w. According to this support Xbox series x requires around 152w for active gameplay. My next test is to find somewhere that has a higher voltage outlet and then see if the same issue persist.

Whatever you’re measuring is irrelevant,

  1. the amount of watts your Xbox consumes depends on what game is being played and other factors.
  2. your house should not have “higher voltage outlets” all your outlets are going to be the same voltage unless there is a serious and potentially dangerous defect in your wiring (minus oven/laundry dryer outlets in America or “electric shaver” bathroom outlets in the UK, all of which are unusable by your Xbox anyway)

If your Xbox takes 30 minutes to start up that is a pretty clear sign that your hard drive has died,
Contact support if you’re under warranty, go to a legitimate repair shop or buy a new Xbox
