Every time I am attempting to link my Ubisoft account to my Xbox account it is giving me an error with retrieving account details, my accounts easily linked on the Ubi website but my Xbox is having no luck, any advice?

If your issue is regarding an account/billing issue, you will need to reach out to Xbox Support directly.

Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).

If so, what results have you seen and tried?
