Wired controller works for could gaming. But idk if iPad detects wired controllers.

So in general, yes, iOS supports Bluetooth and lightning/usb-c joysticks.

I haven’t tried wiring one to my iPad but I’ve used wired non-Microsoft ones with my iPhone. But when I use my@mocrosoft one with my@iPhone I was just using a charging cable I don’t think it was actually a wired connection - still Bluetooth just also being charged
