Hi there,
I have a 2016 Xbox One Wireless Controller that I picked up from a friend a few years ago and have been using since without issues. I started noticing some issues with haptic feedback over Bluetooth a few months ago, so I switched to using it mainly with a USB connection, and all was well. All of a sudden, though, it won't connect via USB anymore. I've tried with 3 different cables and 2 different USB-A ports on both a Windows and a Linux laptop, and it buzzes when you plug it in, and then there's nothing - the computer doesn't even register it as a connected peripheral.
The weird thing is, though, that it still turns on, and Bluetooth is working perfectly. I can still connect to it and even pair it with new devices.
I'd really like to get the USB connectivity working again, because Linux support for Bluetooth connections is pretty limited, and I'd rather not get a new controller.
Any ideas on what I can do to debug and fix the issue would be much appreciated. Thanks!
