#Can't sign into Xbox mobile app

I Installed the Xbox mobile app because apparently that's the only way to change the Xbox account profile picture without an Xbox console, so i press "sign in", my browser opens, i log into the account, the browser closes and i'm in the start menu with the sign in button again with nothing happening.
Here's what i tried so far:
Clearing cache
Reinstalling the app
Resetting app data
Resetting browser data
Restarting my device
Making sure the password and login information entered is valid

If so, what results have you seen and tried?
