If you go to Settings > Gaming > Captures, do you have "Record what happened" toggled ON?

Sorry, that's not something I have a ton of expertise with.. But it should be possible, if you haven't already linked an Epic account.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you linked your epic account to the Xbox account that you're using to sign into xbox.com/play, the game should see the linked account.

There is no linking epic to console or console to epic. There is only linking an Xbox account to an Epic account.

You need an Xbox account to log into Xbox. If you want to use your Epic account you need to make sure it's linked to an Xbox account and you're using that Xbox account to log in.
