I have plugged my Xbox to my wired lan and it seemed to massively improve my download time to 150 mbs for a short bit however it seems to have gone down to 40mbs and occasionally fluctuates wildly, would this be a problem with my cable? or a different problem sorry I lack knowledge on how to deal with this and want to fix this and not wait 7 hours for a new game cause the download speed is having problems.

The speed will fluctuate some factors you can control like using a wired connection or closing unused games/apps and not using other devices.
but sometimes its just going to take that long thats how it is.

I am using wired but my problem was with the fluctuating download speed I have no apps open so that should not be affecting it, when I remove and replace the cable the download speed reaches the hundreads before falling making me think its a cable problem but you guys cant really help with that lol
