Hello, I was using an Xbox one and my headset could hear audio through parties but not game volume and the home menu on my headset. this even happened when I was not in a party. And to make it worse, when I turned my monitor sounds on, I could hear it all. I just got an Xbox series X and the problem persists. What do I do?

Are you using a wireless headset or connected to the controller.

If your headset is mono or being detected as mono, only chat audio will go to the headset.

The headset chat mixer is greyed out and won’t let me move is but it is all the way to the right so I can’t hear any game sound or home menu

Answer (1 of 2): Check the pin of the headset which you insert in the jack.

In this picture of a headset, there are 2 black rings on the pin. It means it is stereo. One is for right channel and other one is for left channel.
If there is only one black ring on the pin, it means it is mono headset...
