you cant change the spec of a physical hardware port. HDMI 1.2 is HDMI 1,.2 HDMI 2.0 is HDMI 2.0

You should always check the specs of the exact monitor you are wondering about - what a manufacturer chooses to support on the HDMI port may not be the maximum supported by the spec.

Like I mentioned in general chat, I don’t think manufacturers even make HDMI 1.4 monitors anymore. But you can post a link to the monitor here.
